Two questions about Spawn New WIndow

Hi,

I have two quick questions about Spawn New Window:

  1. Is it possible to use this action on text instead of an image? I tried but did not succeed.

  2. The close button is in the upper left corner. Is there a way to move this button to the upper right corner? Most pop-up windows have their close buttons in the upper right corner (Windows-style).

Thanks!
Marco

Freeway doesn’t let you select text and apply an Action to that text. Instead, what you do is place your text cursor where you want the link text to appear, then choose Insert / Action Item / Your Action Here. As long as your Action has a text variant (many do, this one does for certain) you will see the option in the menu. Once you do that, click once on the Action box, which will be bobbing along in the middle of the text where your cursor was, and look in the Actions palette for the controls. One of the first controls will be a text field for the link text. Type in whatever text you want the link to contain. If you already typed your link text into the HTML box on your page, delete it. The Action has to put the text in your page, because you can’t apply the Action to text directly.

Excellent, thanks Walter! Do you know how I can style this text? What I tried was: type a text and apply a style, remove the text, insert the Action. The style isn’t applied to the Action text. Any way to do this?

Add a space on either side of it, select the space-action-space “sandwich” and apply your style to that.

If the Action is the first element in the line of text, you won’t see it (spaces collapse) but the space “character” will carry the styling and the effect will work.
