Has any had any experience in using a song on your site and copyright.
Basically, a client would like to use a particular song on a Keynote presentation we are doing and then use it on a relevent page on his site. Are there particular places I could go to find out about copyright for music in a presentation and/or on a site?

Well, the answer is simple: if it isn’t explicitly copyright-free or
released with an appropriate Creative Commons license then you cannot
do it without getting prior permission from the copyright owner.
Simple as that. No argument.
I normally talk to my students about print-related copyright issues,
but there’s no difference here.
Just as I though Keith. I wasn’t entirely sure if there was a difference between using a piece either in the public (website) or private domain (business presentation to in-house staff).
The music was a choice between recent classical work, and a piece by Mozart. The presentation is a rememberance day.

PRS will give you all the legalities of using music - especially if
you are using it as a business factor.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that Mozart’s lawyers are all
safely dead – the performance will be copyright if it was made
recently enough to be recorded.

For sure Walter. I’m now going down the route of a ‘Copyright Free’ service which has a selection of CD’s for this very purpose.
I appreciate the comments.
