Would you mind please sending the message you got to me at
waltdATwdstudioDOTcom? I may be able to tell what’s happening. But I
haven’t noticed any threads breaking lately.

I was mailed that there’d been an update to a thread I was
following. followed the link, but can only see the first four
entries in the thread?
I view the forum via email and sometimes I’ll see an answer appear
quoting either the question or a snippet from a previous email which
I haven’t received. I’ve checked my spam settings and folders and
they’re not in there either.
Not a complaint, just an observation. I think you’ve done a wonderful
job on the forum

As another e-mail follower, I’ve noticed the same, but only rarely. I
usually wonder if its something to do with my senior years, mind you!
Walter has done such a good job with the Forum I tend to suspect my
end first, but like you, can’t find anything that’s “spammed”.

Every so often, I will start to see threads getting out of order in
my Mail inbox. I put this down to my ISP’s rabid spam-checking system
slowing up the works, or to the non-deterministic path that e-mail
messages take as they cross the 'net. There’s just no telling what
the reason is.
If you set messages to thread and to sort by the date they were sent,
then that goes a long way toward keeping things in chronological
order. But even then, if the queue gets backed up on the Softpress
server (and this is the same server that was recently hosting
thousands of simultaneous downloads of the Freeway installer) then it
is possible for things to get out of synch.

I have fixed this particular issue, and in the process, probably
fixed a few others as well. What could have been chalked up as
laziness on my part (storing all e-mail messages in their raw format,
and using loads of server power to reformat them to HTML on the fly,
on each request) is proving once more to be a good decision. “Lazy
like a fox”, as someone must have already said.
