The tympanus site has a load of examples with great effects, you can’t get to them from the main page at the moment but there are more… not sure if you know about these ones:
Various image transitions (Check out the ‘Others’ option also):

Circle hover effects:
More hover effects:
The down side is that not all browsers are webkit friendly!
