unwanted hyperlinks on hidden rollovers

Hello.
I’m new to freeway so please excuse my admitted ignorance but… I am having a problem. I’ve set up a page with a list of people’s names and when you rollover each name an image and a blurb of text pops up. The text boxes are stacked and set up as targets. All works ok, except in the blurbs of text I have emails on to which I set up a mailto hyperlink. These hyperlinks appear active even when the target has not been targeted. In other words when reading one person’s bio, if I click slightly off of their email it is easy to accidentally click on a different mailto hyperlink from one of the other text boxes above or below it despite it not being visible. Maybe I will just remove the hyperlinks but is there a way to fix this? I was not sure if it was a hyperlink or rollover issue or something about the way I stacked them. I’m also not sure this makes any sense!
Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Leah

Have you posted this page anywhere online so that we can see the code?

If you have then please make sure that you have set File>Document Setup>Output HTML Code:More readable

And when you post a link here then please use the format

http://www.mysite.com/mypage.html

without the < and > it will then be a clickable link.

OK - Firstly there is no real text on this page - it is all gif text (which are just images and not SEO friendly)

Instead create your target layers with HTML text and the images in them and apply the mailto and hyperlinks to the relevant HTML text.

What you have at the moment are a series of map areas which appear to contain your links and that is why these appear to ‘shine’ through whatever is above them because Map Areas are precisely that a mapped out area of the page with links applied.

Hi David.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Been a lot of trial and error here and I know at some point I couldn’t get the html layers to stack properly for some reason which is why I changed to the graphic boxes. But I will try again and see what happens! Thanks very much,
Leah
