uploading docs using iFrame

Further to my earlier post, I have managed to import a file into Freeway using the iFrame Action, but the URL I used to point at the file was a local one. When I upload, of course I get an error message saying the local file is not available online.

How do I solve the issue please?

What sort of file are you trying to display in your iFrame.

If a PDF or an image then there are various actions that you can use in FW such as Upload Stuff or Extra Resources which you also you to select a file on your HD and it will then upload it to your server in either your Resources Folder or with the HTML files for the page you use it on.

In the iFrame you then choose the path to the file on your server ie www.yoursite.com/Resources/yourfile

If it is an HTML file then then there may well be other associated files (like images etc) that will need to be uploaded as well - and that is a bit more complicated.

So let us know more and we can advise better.

And again Dave. Many thanks. Your advice this time is a bit more complicated so I’ll have read up on this topic. So far the only Action I’ve used is the iFrame. At present I’ve made use of a several jpgs to get my material on the web. It is all at http://www.khseniors.org.uk

What sort of content are you wishing to display in your iFrame?

Depending what it is there may be a better method to use.

Pretty much, it’s the contents of documents or spreadsheets.

At present I’ve been pasting jpgs into Graphic items after capturing scrrenshots with Grab and then turning them into jpgs.

Well you certainly don’t need an iFrame to do that. Jpegs should just be imported into a graphic container.
