url without .html

My client would like to be able to reach the store page of his website by typing ‘…website/store’ - without typing the .html extension as in ‘…website/store.html’. Is this possible.
Cheers,

The coders may tell me I’m wrong or suggest a better way, but if you
make a separate folder for your pages named ‘Store’ and rename your
primary store page ‘store.index’, then ‘website/store’ should open the
right page. (I do this for my client test pages, so that they can be
individually accessed by ‘website/ foldername’.

That may work, I haven’t tried it, but usually the page that opens by
default in a folder is called index.html. When your files are on the
server you can just use the path to the folder rather than the page: http://www.example.com/store
for example.

You’re halfway there - make a folder with the desired name. But name
your default page “index.html” (if that doesn’t work then ask the
host company what the default file name should be) and you’re done.

Naming the file “store.index” won’t work on any system I’ve ever seen…

Sorry, K, I was half asleep (not unusual) at the time I replied - I
did intend it to be ‘index.html’ - must wake myself up earlier in the
morning!

:-0, excuse yawn, that should be

Wouldn’t that just make the problem worse?

A bit late picking this one up, Joe - dozed off again. I reckon I
should be like the grandparents (as I am one) in Roald Dahl’s "The
Chocolate Factory and retire to bed completely - with a wireless
MacBook Pro. (Otherwise I could get strangled with too many cables and
those Mac Pro’s are d**n heavy on the knees)!

Your observation a appreciated.
