Video fading to picture using Backdraft 2

I have a client that requires a video on the home page that becomes a static picture when the video ends with area links on the picture. I achieved this in Freeway 6 by creating an html item in which I put a placed picture then i used Transition FX set to the time of the video to fade in the picture. I then inserted the YouTube action into the html box and all worked well.
The question is how can I do this in a responsive arena - preferably using Backdraft.

I think this is the tricky bit.

The fade is as before but to get map areas to be responsive I think is a bust.
