How to cut vinyls with Intaglio - the easiest way.
Anything from known working plotters to cutting sollutions like"first make .eps than export to “!@#$” file then copy to usb or anything.
PLEASE HELP! I am far from buying SignCutPRO license to use my cutting machine!
I didn’t own any plotter yet, I can remember using Roland without any special programs years ago, -
I strongly believe that there is still an easy way for achieving this But HOW?
After I’ve read and asked people, it finally looks this way:
If there was a driver to plot using a vinyl cutter it would be possible. And only drawing would be posiible because to plot something with a knife, we need to set an offset to precise cuts… So there is no way to cut vinyl straight from Intaglio unless someone writes a driver especially for this purpose…
So it is a must to use different software like SignCut or ArtCut.
Sometimes companies install Windoze based PC’s just to plot and Macs to design and draw. It won’t be so nice because ArtCut (which is the main PC vinyl cutting application) doesn’t recognise Intaglio’s .eps files perfectly. But not only Intaglio’s - Illustrator’s too. I mean that it ads two or three lines to the drawing, which causes unnecessary waste of cutting medium. It is not really big deal but it is needed to manually erase these lines within cutting application. Everytime You import .eps into Artcut… But CorelDraw based .eps is perfectly recognised.
I’ve told You about a possibility to plot directly from the drawing application with a roland years ago… But it was Corel 2.0 and the offset was set inside a drawing, and all the cutting info for the cutter was calculated and sent through rs-232 which was endless operation…
So after all I’m going to buy SignCut license as this is a program which works with my Mac and perfectly recognizes Intaglio’s .eps.
