Visible area on screen

Does anyone have a record of what portion of the screen is visible across different browsers / OS - or maybe an online reference?

For example on my MacBook Pro using Safari I can see a lot more of a web page than using IE on a PC

I use a surprisingly useful and well thought out (but pricey) utility
called Xscope http://iconfactory.com/software/xscope which has a
similar tool to what you’re describing.

This would also be a nice feature for FW, especially since one of its
competitors has a similar feature which - even though I thought I
would not use it - comes in pretty handy.

Nathan, here’s more info about screen sizes http://www.elated.com/articles/choosing-dimensions-for-your-web-page-layout/

I personally like the 960px grid, more info here http://960.gs/

It also helps when you build your sites with the box model method to keep things fluid. Check out Dan Jasker’s video tutorial http://www.danjasker.com/fwtuts/view/inline-box-model-fwtuts/

Lastly Pixel Stick is a free little tool for measuring things on screen http://www.pixelatedsoftware.com/products/pixelstick/index.html
