Web stats & search bots question

Looking at the stats for http://dantucker.co.uk which uses Flash Galleries
out of LightRoom, there are quite a lot of files being viewed that are not
valid “pages” .html or .php.

These are often some of the most viewed files in the FW generated Resources
folder:

viewer.swf
galleries.xml
pngbehavior.htc
viewerNoThumb.swf

Now, I’m guessing that these are not real people viewing these, but search
bots, but they do skew the results, I’d like to remove them from the
listings.

The question is to eliminate crawlers searching these files/folders, I could
put a command in an .htaccess file, or could I simply again through .htacess
tell crawlers not to index some types of files, such as .swf .htc etc?

Best wishes Peter

These files are being requested by other files, or in the case of pngbehavior, by the IE6 browser. The swf files are the Flash engine that drives the gallery. The galleries.xml is called by one of the Flash files to figure out what images to show.

This is all normal stuff, nothing to worry about.
