website analytics traffic

Could someone recommend what is a good way to see the website analytics/traffic that’s coming to one’s website?
Is Google Analytics the one?

I am relatively new to this but i would also use Google Analytics in combination with Statcounter which is also a good source of information, and it’s free unless you want to keep records for over 3 -4 months

Don’t forget they’re (probably) illegal in the EU, though.

Just a reminder that FreeCounter has been cookie-free since the very beginning, wayyyy back in 2001. Beacon images (the technology used in FreeCounter2) are not covered by this ruling, since there’s zero chance of any personal information leaking back through them.
