I’m using Freeway 5.5.2 and recently just finished and uploaded a new website. And after checking with different browsers, The website looks fine when viewing from a computer. But, when using an iPhone, the layout changes and mess up the appearance. It looks like the background is not scaling to the same ratio as pictures for some reason. I’ve uploaded the website so you can all compare between a computer & an iPhone:
I’ve also noticed some added colour tint on certain page (particularly homepage) as well even though all pages are using the same background graphic file. I am guessing that it has something do with how Freeway manages iphone but I’m not sure how solve it. Please help!
To fix the background problem try changing the Height option in the iPhone section of the page to None. Also, in the Background section, change the Vertical option to Top and set the background color to the color of the bottom part of the background image. This will give the appearance of the fade continuing forever.
Hope this helps,
Joe

Thank you for your compliment and suggestion. I’ve tried making changes as per your suggestions, both iphone vertical height and colour background (it seems that freeway won’t let me have that particular shade of grey), but it hasn’t quite fixed my problem. The gradient in the background still doesn’t match the gradient in the photo so the picture still doesn’t blend in nice like it does in the PC version. Do you have any other ideas?
Also I’ve found out that my homepage (the only one with page action) the grey background gained a yellow tint for some weird reason. Anyway to fix it? Many thanks
Are you using the magnifying glass in the Color Picker to select the grey from the image? If so, you may need to set the color space to be the same as the color space as the image (or even easier, use the Save for Web feature in Photoshop and then the default space in the Color Picker should work just fine).
I can think of two ways to make the gradient match up with the image on iOS. The first is to turn off all scaling in the iPhone settings (so the content doesn’t scale past the point of the gradient). The second is to make the image a transparent PNG so it doesn’t matter (as much) where the gradient falls on different devices. The thing to remember about the web is that it’s very difficult to be static and always make things line up; that just isn’t the way the web works.
I can’t see a yellowy tint here, but then I’m no color expert. What is the page Action you mention?

Thanks again for the suggestions. I’ve previously tried to use the colour picker for the background colour but doesn’t seem to work. Must be the web colour thing that you mention. I’ll try the scaling next. Sounds like that could really be the answer to my problem. The colour tint happens on certain pages, particularly those with carousel actions and can be a bit random. Any ideas how i can solve it? Many thanks again!
