Will WebYep CMS work with the Relative Page Layout Action?
i.e.
Can I create a CSS layout website, with no box model shenanigans, apply the RPL Action and use WebYep CMS - and when a client writes a whole load more text in the CMS the layout won’t break?
Well Max, you’re the boss and if you say, I’ll believe - but with some doubts.
The RPL (as the simple site search) is to me an action, that comes in handy to the time of “publishing”. Filling content is a matter of later things.
So pushing a footer down (or some other elements) by growing CMS content would be the magician trick, cause RPL will “recalculate” without being active?
But as I said: you’re the boss and I haven’t tested it in that direction cause I love “shenanigans” - at least much more than to wait on “The Harry Potter Action”.
Hi Thomas
it all comes down to how complicated is your artwork… plus I have had better results when using a freeway layer which is converted to webyep when I have used RPL
what RPL basically does is use a combination of min heights in css and the use of relative rather than absolute positioning so technically it should effect the webyep functionality and vice verser, and in the tests I did it worked fine. but its always good to test the layout first before making the whole site.
All the best max
