webyep newbie

Any web dev folk out there can tell me where to put these tags in an EXISTING freeway document?

There only seems to be one line of PHP code…do you put before your item/section or after it?

Can’t make out what to do and can’t join the webyep forum because the captcha is illegible!

No, I don’t want to buy the action yet.

Basically you could use markup items, however it is easier with Max’s actions.

On my website, link found in the signature bar, I am hosting a screencast series on building an entire website for a real client for a real organization using WebYep. Episode three is on the way!

hi Dan,

As I say I’m not buying the action yet.

So yes I’ll use Markup items…but where do you put the tag?

  1. before what you want to edit?
  2. after what you want to edit?
  3. in place of what you want to edit?

Webyeps suggest… "You don’t need to rebuild your entire website with WebYep. You just throw some WebYep Elements into individual pages to make them editable. "

I hope it’s not in place of what you want to edit, because that will mean an awful lot of re-formatting for my lengthy content!

I’m afraid that is exactly it. Any content you want WebYep to handle has to be added through the WebYep web interface. You will have to lay out your page with blank areas specified for where this content will end up once it’s been added.

The tags can go anywhere in your layout, but they do not give you editing ability for existing content not added through WebYep.

Thanks for that, just what I needed to know (or not, as it happens!)

cheers
