When using the rich text element control is down to the installed rich text editor (RTE), The question then is which is the best RTE to use with WebYep for creating tables?
I have used both TinyMCE and CKEditor although both are not without their foibles. Not sure which I would recommend as it also has to be based on what the client editing the content is working from, IE, Firefox, Safari, Mac vs Windows, Desktop Vs Mobile etc
I am working on a site with Web Yep with a table on one page. I built the table in Freeway, viewed it in a browser, looked at the source and copied the HTML which I then pasted into the web yep page using the HTML edit option in TinyMC. The client (on a PC and I guess IE) has not reported any problems when viewing the test. Tables can be built in TinyMC but I found it a bit fiddly and building the basic design in FW was a lot easier. It can be edited in Tiny MC including adding or removing columns or rows but as far as I can see only the outside columns or rows, not ones within the table.
If I get the chance tomorrow I will try and see if I can put together a simple file but you probably do not need it. Open up a blank page in FW, insert a table and size it up. According to need or taste add padding, colour, borders. Pick a font and add some text. Save it then view it in a browser. Once there look at the source and copy all the code between the table tags, including of course the tags.
In your Wepyep site place a WY Rich Text item, (I used tinyMCE). Upload the site to a server, go to the relevant page, open the webyep rich text item, select the html source editor and paste the code into it. In the regular Webyep edit window you should see your table exactly as you built it.
You can also edit this table from within TinyMCE - selecting table row properties for example or insert or remove columns and rows, change their colour and of course edit the text.
Hope this is clear. If not ask again and I will try it with a file to play with.
