WebYep

Using MAMP I can log into and add WY content locally but the changes
are not shown in the browser although the edits have been saved;
meaning if I log back in the new content is still there but it will
disappear as soon as I log out of WY. Is this because WY is licensed
to a specific www address and therefore it doesn’t recognize the local
address as being valid?

That doesn’t seem likely. Normally it works as advertised in demo mode without having to purchase a liscense, just with the added disclaimer displayed.

The site belongs to someone else and as such WY is licensed to their
site. I was trying to replicate the functionality locally instead of
having to upload everything each time I tested something new.

Thanks chuckamuck

As long as you didn’t use their liscense number when you installed WP, I don’t see how that would be an issue.

The file/folder structure I have locally in MAMP is identical to
what’s on the client’s server (I built their site) which is why I’m
trying to understand why WY doesn’t quite work on my local setup
(works fine remotely).

Hmm, I see. If you copied over folder structure that could perhaps be a problem related to content pointing to remote files instead of local files.

I think I’ll start with a clean slate and and download the entire
remote structure and reset things locally. Probably something simple.

Thanks
