What do we do now?

OMG I do not use FW much so I just found out about this horrible news!!
Does anyone know of a good alternative to Freeway Pro?

There is a collaboration of some options here -

Keep in mind your existing copy of FW will keep working for as long as you need - so it’s not time to panic just yet.

Thanks everyone! Would anyone know what the most up-to-date version is? Mine is ver- 7.1.3 (7069) Screenshot by Lightshot
and where I might download the newest version if I need to?

As regards alternatives to Freeway, I’ve just spent several hours reading pertinent software reviews. I did not find any Macintosh software that takes Freeways ‘page make-up’ approach, whose second major advantage is full access to the HTML etc. behind your ‘page make-up’ activities as you as you set up or modify your site.

Weebly seems to the only one of the newer softwares (on the Mac) that see and change the code under your web pages.

Thus, let’s hope and pray the owners of the now deceased company will do their very best keep this Forum running and maintain the Knowledge Base. Or, sell control of the Forum and the Knowledge Base to parties that want to keep these going.

It would be great to have volunteers come forward to refresh and extend the Knowledge Base (after peer reviews of draft new material).

Let us pray the Mac OS does not evolve to the point where Freeway 7.1.3 will not run in the latest Mac OS.

I use Muse as an alternative to FW, pay attention that Muse doesn’t support
percentages in fluid design.

For the rest it’s a well-build piece of software and works great, mostly
like FW in my opinion. You work mostly from scratch.

Yes, I’m getting along with Muse now, but the percentages thing bugs me. I’d just gotten my head around it in Freeway and now it’s not there (Freeway or Muse %, take your pic).

However, it is a very stable product (as you’d expect) I haven’t had a crash yet and you don’t have the problem of just clicking on the screen and all of a sudden your DIV’s are screwed up.

Oh, and multiple Undo’s. I reckon I’ve broken into the 21st Century!

I use Adobe Muse and mostly very happy with it and yes, it’s becoming quite expensive, however, believe it or not you can negotiate price wth them. I just did for the second year in a row.

I’m very happy with my new tools (Responsive Foundation Framer), and I now own every single piece of Mac software they offer, probably for less than Muse alone would cost me. CoffeeCup’s apps for sure are worth a closer look if you’d ask me.
