on iphone and ipad I can enlarge the browser content with this two finger action. If I do this with an large picture of the showcase gallery the picture is repositioned. So it is impossible to see the enlarged picture or to move it on the iphone or ipad screen.
My question is: how is it possible to prevent the showcase gallery from repositioning the picture?

It is nothing to do with Showcase! It is to do with the Safari iOS browser and how it calculates the centre of the browser window to display the larger pic.
first thank you for writing an answer. Yes it has to do with Safari iOS browser. If the browser content is enlarged and I just move the content in my iphone display to see other parts of the picture, the browser sends an event and Showcase immediately repositions the picture so that the 0, 0 coordinate of the browser window is in upper left corner of my iphone display. So if I have a large picture I cant move the browser window in the display in fact.
So it would be useful if it would be possible to suppress the repositioning in this case.

But it is NOT Showcase that does this but the Safari browser.
Are you just seeing this with Showcase set as a Slideshow rather than a Thumbnail Gallery.
Can you post a link to your online page so that we can see it too.
I was looking around for some others who experience some odd stuff happening on iphone with showcase. I understand that it is Safari causing the wonkiness Dave, but does anyone have a solution.
When I hit a thumb to enlarge a photo, it pops up on the side and can not be repositioned
Thx all
