Whoosh

An interesting alternative to MailChimp, <http://www.theescapers.com/whoosh/

Thanks for the share Todd. I’m quite surprised that this isn’t a web service rather than a desktop application as it would open it up to everyone and not just Mac users. Other than a few rough edges (the app crashes if you try and use most of the features without entering your Amazon ID first) it certainly shows potential. I’d like to see it integrate development tools like Litmus (http://litmus.com/) so you can road test your emails before you send them but, again, I suspect that will come with time.
It is certainly an application to keep an eye on.
Regards,
Tim.

I got the notification from Amazon about this service a month ago
(SimpleMailer) and looked at it then. I’m really glad these guys have
wrapped it up in some controls, because I found Amazon’s instructions
typically inscrutable.

I’ve used a lot of Amazon’s services over the years, primarily S3 for
backups and bulk storage, but it’s always a challenge to hook their
services into normal code – they expect this huge rocket surgery
signature to encrypt/decrypt in order to authenticate anything.

That would be a great addition. Litmus is very nice indeed, of course
their pricing is commensurate with that level of service.
