Windows 7 and Printers

This is way beyond me but if this sounds familiar to anyone who uses
Windows I would appreciate any insight.

My friend is running Windows 7 and has 2 printers which are not being
recognized all of a sudden. She gets a “spooler” error message. Here’s
what happens:

The error message says, “No Printers Installed”. And when she opens
the printer section, it shows them, but has a message that they need
“Troubleshooting”. When she follows that path, she gets to the
printer spooler error, which says it isn’t running. She goes through
the process to get it running again, the printers then look like they
are all online, until she tries to print, and then the process starts
all over. She has restarted, rebooted, repaired, etc., and nothing.
Also reinstalled drivers for both printers but still nothing.

A bit of Googling hasn’t turned up much so far but I’m still looking.

Thanks,

Todd

Did you try and just use Windows Update? That’s how my printer drivers were found and fixed some issues.

If you haven’t already done so, check out each printer manufacturer’s website for updated drivers and compatibility, especially if the printers are older ones. I run both an older Epson A3 printer and a more recent HP All-in-One successfully (and wirelessly) from Windows 7 on a cheap laptop.
