Xway and Chroma

Hi, is there an easy way to import in Xway Chroma stuff?

Hi Bruno,

You can paste colour values from Chroma into the New Colour dialog.

There isn’t a way to import a complete colour palette yet, or to import colours from other documents. Both of these are on our to-do list.

Hello Jeremy,

Thanks for your answer. It’s a good idea to provide this feature, perhaps with several palettes that we can exchange according to our choices (especially for the “day-night” effects on the screen). :face_with_monocle:

I think it’s probably more useful to paste colours that you intend to use. From memory (I’m not in front of my normal computer) I think Chroma generates 55 or 60 colours for each image. You can copy/paste colours from Chroma to Xway (via Xway’s New Color dialog), but if you were to import all 55 or 60 colours, you’d end up with very long colour popups in Xway, and it would be more difficult to select individual colours.

There would be ways around that. When we’ve added an import option Xway will import colours as “permanent” colours, but you can remove colours you’re not using by turning off the Permanent checkbox.

Also from memory: I think Chroma lets you export colours in a format that you can import into Apple’s color picker. I can follow up on this when I’m back at my computer, but that might be more useful than importing them directly into Xway.

Yes, Chroma allows export to both Apple and Adobe. My idea is to use a palette of 15 colors arranged to create a theme for an entire site. From the palette generated by Chroma, I select and copy what I want. Automating the copy of a selected set of colors would make the task easier. There’s no urgency; it’s just a suggestion. I don’t have enough volume of copying to be bothered by the current method. I really like Chroma; it builds the palettes very accurately.
