Xway is not saving changes in site folder

I have edited html pages but they are not saved in the site folder.

Hi Howard,

When you say you have edited HTML pages, do you mean that you have edited pages in an Xway document?

Xway is an HTML generator rather than an HTML editor. It generates HTML pages when a document is published. This happens when you choose Publish from the File menu, or when you choose any of the commands which follow Publish in that section of the File menu (Xway automatically publishes pages before previewing, uploading, or exporting a site).

Dear Jeremy,

What you described is what I understood takes place when I enter the publish command. However, when I updated the list of officers for my organization and selected publish the new html page did not change to the new list. The name of the page is “About.” When I wanted to upload the edited html “About” page to the domain server there was not an updated html document in the list of html documents. So, Xway had not saved the edited page.

Any suggestions?

Howard

Are you uploading from Xway or with a third-party application?

If you are using a third-party application:

  1. Choose Export Site from the File menu (in Xway)
  2. Choose Show Export Folder from the File menu
  3. Use a third-party application to upload the contents of this folder. Note that in this case you should upload any files that have changed (not just HTML files). It’s generally best to use a Synchronise command in the upload application to do this.

If you are uploading from Xway, any files that have changed will automatically be uploaded, and you don’t need to check whether a particular HTML file exists, although you might want to preview the site in a local browser before uploading it (choose Preview from the File menu).
