After upgrading several of the System Preferences panes fail to load, e.g., Notifications, Users/Accounts, Extensions etc… Anyone else experiencing this or know something about it?
I’m glad you said something. I was just getting ready to upgrade, but perhaps I’ll hold off until you get your matter resolved. Sorry you’re having difficulties Todd.
I did update iTunes in this last system update - and if Yosemite follows
suite, all they did was make it visually crappy and move all the controls
'n stuff so using it is a frustrating experience.

[Laughs] Canary, indeed. It sure is dark in this mineshaft.
Don’t get me started on the visual aspect.
Todd
You are my canary, actually.

I hope this is not the new trend in Apple GUI sans Steve Jobs.

I have no idea who to blame for all this recent featureless visual
distraction. It seems any hardware improvements in any Apple device are now
offset by growing software requirements to do more-or-less the exact same
stuff.
It’s practically abstract! Reminds me of those kimono-wearing
fruit-smoothie-enema enlightened government guys from the movie “Demolition
Man” - they would have found the interface sooo intuitive.
They should hire the Dennis Leary character to redesign it, s’all I’m
sayin’.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to reinstall Yosemite by clicking the Download link in the MAS Purchases section? I don’t want to mess things up further and I can’t find any info regarding a reinstallation process.
Todd, about every 6-months I use the OS X Recovery procedure to reinstall my OS. One option you’ll have is to reinstall the OS only. It works very well.
Kelly, the System Preferences problem I mentioned earlier appears to have inexplicably resolved itself, no reinstall required. As far as I can tell (so far) that was the only issue and everything is working ok.

I just installed it on my MBP and a Mac Mini. All appears to be fine. It’s interesting that one of the trends in website design (i.e. flat graphics) was used in the Yosemite GUI.
