Have just tried this action and the movies are visible on Safari and Opera but not on Firefox or Chrome. (no idea what’s happening on a PC.)
The action asks for the movie number. I took v/63VOaN-cBBw?fs=1&hl=en_US from the following code, assuming it to be this number - unless someone tells me different.
On the other hand if I take this code offered by Youtube and paste it into a Markup item it works across all the browsers. But one thing I like about the action is it lets me cut out the related movies at the end of the transmission.
Has any one else tried this action with or without success?
Hi Richard,
I’ve tried the action. It’s not one of my best!
The video ID you want is ‘63VOaN-cBBw’ (without the quotes). The code that YouTube provides should work all browsers but, sadly, won’t validate. I put a checkbox in the action called ‘Create legacy (YouTube) code’. With this switched on the action should produce code that is exactly the same as YouTube’s. When the option is off the action will produce code that validates but is generally only supported in more modern browsers (basically we do away with the depreciated embed part of the code).
Next steps for me, when I get a chance, are to update the action to make these options more understandable (or even automatic) as well as add YouTube’s support for HTML 5 video.
I hope this helps. If not let me know.
Regards,
Tim.
