Nor sure why. I can login but the login window doesn’t disappear and the edit icons are nowhere to be seen. As much as I like Safari it’s a bit flakey with WebYep / rich text etc…
do you probably have some security settings that is blocking pop-ups?
I’ve had Rich-Text Editor Problems in WebKit Browsers in the past, since running wy 1.6 and tinyMCE 3.4.2 (or something like that) it’s working like a charm. OBDEV told fixing this since versions 1.4.2 but in fact this happened lately since 1.6.
What happened was, initial loaded the rich-text, the editor appeared but a second load the editor disappeared.
But actually (crossing fingers) it is so cool to work with WebYep - CrossBrowser compatible so I can’t double this.
Chucka - good point. I think it may be v 1.4.6 but checking with Transmit how would I know which version? When I replace WYep folder to an up-to-date version, presumably I just copy and paste in the data file yes?
TinyMCE is the mother behind the richtext Thomas…ah v2.1. I turned off Block Pop-up but that made no difference.

Does not seem to be a way that I can find. Not obvious anyway.

Make a copy of the existing config file and the data folder before updating. After uploading the new version you can then copy the settings out of the old config file and use in the new one. Then copy the contents of the old data folder into the new one.
Thanks Chucka. Also got issues with Rich text dicking about ignoring styles and insisting some text boxes have white backgrounds. I’ll do the update and then when I’ve screwed everything up I’ll be back.
I’ve tried David’s online update of WebYep and although it did update, the original WY folder is still there plus a new folder called: ‘webyep-system_1.2.2X1_20110830_1913’ and in that new folder there is no Data folder although the Program Folder is there but I had to create an opt folder for tinymce.
When Logging for the first time in Safari, I had to paste in the License key, but Firefox, after logging in and confirming that, still says, 'You must be logged in to enter your license, just after confirming I have logged in.
I had similar odd behavior after updating to 1.7. After entering the license number it worked, but kept showing me a demo warning. I found that there was a file in the old data folder called “license” that contains the license string. Moving that into the new data folder solved that problem.
As long as you copy out the contents of your old data and opt folders. Once you’ve done that you can delete the old WebYep folder, but I would make sure everything is working correctly (as it has till now) first before deleting.
The other folders are backup folders of older version numbers. Disregard them unless you need to revert to them.
I had not noticed the version was up to 1.7 and testing an update myself today it too refused to take the serial number. I changed back to 1.6.2 for the moment till I check out the changes and any possible problems.
I also notice 1.7 has a warning within the page (not a pop up window). I assume this is the beginnings of a transition to an iPad friendly version.

I copied the data folder and deleted both WebYep folders, used Transmit to upload a new WY folder (1.7), copied in the data folder and tinymce and everything works in Safari, all annoying glitches have evaporated.
However Firefox can’t cope. Logging in is okay, but WY icons appear in different places to Safari and when clicked on say, 'I don’t have sufficient privileges. Is that a security setting thing?
It just might be a firefox issue. Personally i’m not using WY 1.7 until I do some further testing. You can still download WY 1.6.2 from Obdev which for works with Firefox 6
