Has it been stated somewhere that the new version of Freeway won’t support current actions (or updated versions of them)?
I don’t recall anything being said on this either way. In fact, I don’t think anything specific has been said about the features of the new version, except things like multiple Undo since that comes with the dev kit. I expect it to have all the modern macOS things like the text engine and such. Beyond that as far as Freeway-specific features, we either wait and see or Joe & Co. will pop in and let us know if they wish to.

I have not heard from Joe since he got a different job. I don’t think he’s a part of the newly reanimated Softpress. Richard Logan is the chief cook and bottle-washer, and Jeremy is coding away, and we are the support team right here. From what I know of my Softpress history (which goes back to Uniquorn, which I actually used for a few days, poly-bagged along with a Mac magazine – on floppies – once upon a time in the early 90s), Jeremy has been the “secret sauce”, having written much of the engine that converts your design intent into valid code. If anyone can figure out how to leverage the Freeway IP in a modern framework, my money is on him.

Yes pleeeeaaaase!!!
Actions are fun and what makes Freeway interesting. In my experience most of them don’t work on responsive websites so if you could make them that would be terrific.
I have been waiting for WebYep’s new version but it seems to have been forgotten.
With regard the new Freeway - please give a comprehensive user manual with tutorials. This was missing in V7 which was when I most needed it (moving to responsive).

Joe is at creatable if anyone was wondering.
As for actions… well basically they are javascript or at least freeways versions… so I can’t see why they couldn’t be made to work, but I assume it will be down to what type of access we get to install things like actions. As for responsiveness well that comes down to what type of action it is… e.g. p tag removal, link to file, crowbar, etc have nothing to do with responsive layout so you should be able to use many of the actions. The only ones that may be not suitable are the ones that change layout structure and need to be able to react with break points, but the others should be fine…
and no webyep is not forgotten in fact webyep2 is finished and being tested by quite a few people , but its cost me a heck of a lot of time and money I am talking thousands of pounds… and remember I can’t charge for system. I am obliged under the agreement I have with OBD to keep it open source and free so in reality I have to recoup the cost in other ways. e.g. a commercial version that doesn’t fall foul of the open source version
so to give eve tone the heads up it is finished but OBD will need to give me the know thats its good to go
Max.

Very interested in a working soft scroll in responsive pages. The one I used before is not working neither when I visit Freeway market and open the templates they say have this action.
Have anyone managed to solve the Jaca Script issue ???

For blogger solutions you are free to make any design within Freeway and then use it as a blogger template. Just use the actions provided but be prepared for some hand editing of styles to get things exacly the way you want.

I’m curious if anyone is successfully using their MAC in emulation mode with VM Fusion. I’ve got everything working fine but have this really strange problem. I can not select or add text to an existing text block. I choose the “select” tool, but for some reason it does not seem to work in emulation mode with Fusion.
I’m using Freeway Pro 7.1.3 running on VM Fusion 8.5.8 with El Capitan 10.11.6
Any suggestions appreciated. If I can figure this out I can update to High Sierra & beyond on my late 2011 Macbook Pro & just utilize for Freeway & a few other “legacy” apps.

Ready made pages like wordpress blog templates and more templates in general. The Softpress Marketplace was a great idea but it died long before Softpress did.
I migrated to Coffeecup because they promised hundreds of templates. Well - nothing new on the table yet…
Funny - but smooth scroll action is working after updating to 7.1.4.
Scrolling up is wasted time - I rather use an arrow icon with hyperlink to page.
Smooth scroll gave me javascript failure on 3 different macs with different Osx.
Hope nextgen Freeway will be a more stable platform.

Tim, add me to your list of supporters with regard to new or updated Actions for Freeway. However, just as Walter pointed out in an earlier post, Freeway is being re-written from the ground up in SWIFT. That means you don’t have any idea how Actions will be supported in the new version, or what changes would need to be made. I would therefore suggest you speak to Richard or Jeremy before embarking on further work. You have a history with Freeway, so I doubt they would keep important development details from you regarding Actions support, especially if an NDA is involved.
