How do I make Slide responsive?

I’ve seen it done, but I’m not sure how to accomplish it. Can anyone help me out?

Hi Ben,

Until now, people have been customising the output to make Slide responsive. We’ve just pushed out a new release (1.1.3) that resolves that though. I’d love to hear your thoughts once you’ve tried it out.

Hi Joe!
I’ve just downloaded the Exhibio update. That’s exactly what I was looking for. Slide looks great! It’s an often requested gallery format from my clients, very clean. I especially like the ability to change the timing between transitions, and my current project requires both that ability to change the timing and a responsive capability. Thanks!

Hi Joe,

Sorry for jumping in but I also have just downloaded the new version and what I would like to know is 'How do you get the Exhibeo action into a ‘BackDraft2’ twoWrapper, so that it is responsive.

Hi Ian

Open your copy of Exhibio, go to the menu bar and click on ‘Exhibio’. In drop down you’ll see ‘Check for updates’, click and update.

To update/download ‘Exhibio Import’ Action, go to menu bar and click ‘Help’, then click ‘Install Freeway Action for Exhibio’ and you should be done.

Hi Karen

The action is v1.0.6 but Softpress advise that when you upgrade the Exhibio App, you reinstall the action.

Okay, but regarding the last five posts:

Has the initial query ever been answered? How do you make an Exhibio slide file responsive in Freeway Pro 7?

David asked a few days ago (above) and simply has not received an answer. I myself meant to post on this thread my question (which is the same as the original poster) but it ended up on an older thread started by Karen E. I didn’t want to muck things up on the forum with two different requests, but it would sure be great to hear something back from those in the know! Thanks!

In the first reply to the original post, Softpress announced an update to Exhibeo which fixed the Slide theme to automatically be responsive to the width of its container.

In Freeway 7, you can set the width or size of things at different breakpoints. Slide galleries produced by the newest version of Exhibeo will adjust to fit whatever container you put them in.

If you employ Inflow Layout techniques, then Slide galleries will flexibly scale with your containers.

Thank you for your response!

Okay. Let me be a little more specific then. Yes, the Slide them on an Exhibeo gallery will get smaller as the page is shrunk. But how do you make it go bigger? I have my page width set to 1200 pixels, and the gallery is fine (except it is left and refuses to be in the center of the page). For testing purposes, I have an html item directly underneath the gallery and it has the same attributes.

The testing item expands to the width of the page when it is wider than 1200 pixels, which is what I want. The Exhibeo gallery does not. Is the only solution to make the exhibeo gallery 2400 pixels wide so it covers off just about the widest size that anyone would view it at? (That work-around just occurred to me…)

How wide do you want the gallery to be? If your page is 1200px wide and you want the gallery to fit that, then that’s how wide you should make it. If you want the gallery to fit the whole browser window, then you must edit the CSS file that Exhibeo makes (removing the max-width property from the figure container).

I want the gallery to be the width of the browser window, just like the test item.

Thank you for the first answer that seems to point in some direction!

So how do I edit the CSS file to remove the max-width property? I know how to access the contents of a file with text editor, but beyond the mac stuff, what do I do in the file? Do I erase some text, replace some text, set it to ‘0’… what exactly? I ran a forum search and read a few threads but came up empty.

UPDATE: The Slide theme will fill the full width of the page just fine. Just make sure that it is placed within an HTML element that is sitting within a properly set up page wrapper as explained in the Appendix of the Freeway Reference manual.

Now if someone can just explain what the various width settings mean in FWP I’ll be on my way! (But that is a different topic for a different thread.)

The CSS editing suggested above is NOT needed.
