Hi,
I too have been waiting for the release of Lion, yet now am a bit apprehensive. This is a post from another forum (graphic converter) that is encouraging me to take it a bit slower…
------------------from GC forum:
99%? Oh, you are an optimist, aren’t you. I’ve been using Macintosh
for a long time, and Lion is going to be my most difficult transition
ever. Things that will hit me the hardest:
-
Appleworks will stop working altogether (I’m transitioning to iWork
and Bento)
-
Intuit tells us (in a bulk e-mail I received yesterday) that Quicken 7
will never work on Lion, only “Essentials”, which is not the same.
-
Parliant’s Phone Valet doesn’t work.
-
I still haven’t made the transition to GC7 because I have a lot of
Applescript scripts to check for compatibility before I switch over.
-
Microsoft Office requires upgrade to “2011”, but “2011” doesn’t work
with my company’s antiquated exchange server.
These are just things I found out in the last few week. I’m already
running the Lion seed at my day job, but even with that head start, I
expect I will not be “ready” for Lion on my personal machines for
another year.
So, I think promoting Lion compatibility up front is important and a
good thing to do.

Why? 99% of all Applications are “Lion Ready” out of the box. I would expect the publisher to note if that was NOT the case, for some strange reason.

Hi there
I’m probably one of the last to find this site but just in case you haven’t seen it yet, there’s a (very) long list of application and utilities along with their status for OS 10.7 at:

All the best

Hmm - interesting list. Hooray - Photoshop CS3 works
Boo - Illustrator CS3 doesn’t.
For the cost, it’s going to be worth grabbing a copy eventually to install on my MBP (hereby designated “stunt Mac”) to see what the impact would be on other software.
Lion may not be an “on the day” upgrade for me, though.

Great news is Freeway seems to work fine in Lion.
Remote Desktop fails. boooo
Cyber Duck took a java upgrade to make it work.
After you install your new Lion just look at the icon for an app and if it has a ghost buster icon then no go.
