Hi all I had an interesting experience. I set up a shopping cart with Mals, customized it, the whole shebang.
Then after getting codes to implement on freeway and upload, all my setting disappeared. I asked Mal about this and he says thats what happens when one uploads Freeway. So any advice as to what i should do? I will add more items to cart on my freeway and should expect to have to redo the cart every time. There must be a solution I am not aware of. There is nothing Mal can do…so does anyone have experience with this issue?
Thx all
C
The E-shop settings action - which you apply to the folder that contains your cart pages - has many options which will influence the look of your cart.
If you mirror in the action what you want in the cart you will be GTG
ha! yes of course that is what I thought, so I redid all my colors/ uploaded header and styles within Eshop settings
but alas nothing was mirrored on Mals shopping cart
so all I can think is that site is not live yet?
but I do not believe that should matter?
Hello,
I am at the critical point in building my website, to make online purchases
is possible. I don’t want to screw this up, and I am clueless about HTML.
Mals asks for code and uses terms I don’t understand. There doesn’t seem to
be any telephone number to call so someone can walk me through this. I can
get into big trouble if it isn’t right, so someone please help me with this.
I appreciate anything you can tell me. I am stumbling through this at best.
Installing “Buy Now” buttons, product options and adding multiple items to
shopping cart is very intimidating. Link security is of particular concern.
Thank you.

Hello,
I have been using all of that. I am now trying to do all that is described
on pages 429-430 in the FW Reference Guide. I am not exactly sure what is
meant by “start Freeway and create a new document based on the Blank
template.” on page 427. Am I making a new blank Master page? On page 428 is
says, “The most important of these is the E-Shop Settings Action
where you will enter information about your Malâs e-commerce account. This
is an Action which is applied to a folder, so select your Site Folder in the
Site
panel. Now open the Actions palette, if it is not already open, and click on
the button in the bottom-left corner of the palette. A dialog will appear
listing all of the Folder Actions you have available. Select the E-Shop
Settings
Action and OK the dialog. The Actions palette will now display the E-Shop
Settings user interface.” Do I click on the blue Site Folder that has all my
website pages listed below or do I create a new page with the new blank
master? I am not sure how to apply a new master, if that is the case. I
selected the blue folder and a yellow and black gear appeared on the blue
folder with an “f” in the center; action. Am I doing this right?

start Freeway and create a new document based on the Blank template.
All that means is create a new FW doc (File>New) and use the Blank Website Template from the General section of the Template options.
Do I click on the blue Site Folder that has all my website pages listed below
Normally I would have my Site folder and within that another Folder for my shop pages. I would select my ‘shop’ folder and apply the action to it ‘E-shop Settings’
Now with the ‘shop’ folder selected if you choose Page>New Pages you can create a new page within the shop folder. When the New Page dialogue box opens you can choose which Master page to base it on.
Note that you can drag pages from one folder to another.
Hello,
How do I remove the E-Shop Settings action I put on my Site Folder?

Hello,
So, I got rid of the E-Shop Action off my main website folder. I got rid of
the email action on the other folder and changed the name of my email page
to shopping. I applied the blank master I created before. I can’t figure out
how to change the name on the folder I want to use for shopping cart.

Hello,
On page 468 it says, “Although templates are provided for Freeway Shop, for
the purposes of this
tutorial we will use a blank template and apply all the Actions ourselves to
help familiarize you with the Actions used to enable the links to the
shopping
cart. Therefore, start Freeway and create a new document based on the Blank
template.
The first thing you must do for the Actions to work is to specify the web
address of your shop. This is the URL of your shop as seen in a web
browser.” I think this is where I started having trouble. The URL of your
shop is not the same URL I used for my store, is it?
