Mals e commerce

Hello,
I checked the server files and it has listed as a sub folder email and it
contains something that says “malsettings.cfg”. I hope that is a good thing.
I can’t open it though, to see what it contains.

It is - if your shop page is at [1][2][3]http://www.yourwebsite.com/shop
 then
all you need to put into the web address field is
 [2][3][4]http://www.yourwebsite.com

That is correct - the malsettings.cfg file contains the information you set in the e-shop Settings action window that pertains to bg colours, images, language/currency etc. and uses them in your Mals cart page.

Hi,
I want to change it and I tried to, but I’m not doing something right. I
just went to account details at mal’s website and noticed that some things
didn’t get filled in. I updated record and went back to look at the server
files, but it still shows me nothing inside the malsetting.cfg. I hate
working out bugs, but I will not - I can not give up on this. I am so close
to getting my website finished! I appreciate your help. Thank you. How am I
going to access this if there are no links to this in my website?

Create them. It is as simple as selecting some text or a graphic Edit>Hyperlink and choose the page within your shop folder you want to link to.

Creating links is a FW basic.

You must have done it before to get your existing links.

when I click on the folder, it doesn’t allow me to rename it

You need to Right Click on it and Choose Edit Name from the options

The settings in the action palette determine what goes in the malsettings.cfg file

There are several different sections that you can change

The Dropdown options are

General, Text, Background, Header Image, Display Header, Input Header, Link Color etc

Ah, thank you. It was a two finger hold and third finger click on my Mac,

the Mal’s e-commerce stuff, like Recalculate, Go To Payments, or Continue
Shopping. The test link is at the bottom of the Healthy Nutrition page.

You need to create cart buttons on that page first - read the tutorial about adding buttons etc.

This page shows the E-buy form action in use

http://www.deltadesign.co/odds/tartan.html

You cannot get to the cart page on Mals until you buy something!

Hi,
Wow, I am a long way from putting something like that together! The
reference manual said I could test it at that point, but I am wondering if
the shopping cart I build on Mal’s website is causing this not to work? I
didn’t get to this FW instruction until after I did that. I had my website
all built and linked to PayPal, with buttons, etc. before iWeb crashed. This
is very different. I can’t see what I am doing with this. At some point, I
am supposed to put payment buttons WITH the products. Can I do that inside
(insert) HTML boxes with product descriptions in them? I couldn’t do that in
iWeb. It needed it’s own separate box, apart from the text box. I figure
that is going to be my next difficulty.

You can go into your Account on Mals server and test it there. Log in at https://www.mals-e.com/

Go to Cart Setup and there is an Orange Button (top right) where you can View Your Shopping Cart - and see what it will look like

Hi,
Yes. I did that. That’s the screen shot I attached to one of my last

got to doing the rest of the directions in the reference manual involving

Ahh! It works! I looked in the server files and clicked on index.html for

I haven’t seen any screenshots!

Remember that you cannot send an attachment to an email to the Forum - the image must be hosted on your own site and then you can include a link to it in your post.

Where are you stuck - put a picture on your web page of the product you want to sell. Insert>Action Item> E-buy Text. Fill in the parameters in the action palette.

Done

Or make a Button (Buy Now text within a graphic box) - Item>Actions>E-buy Button

I dont think that you have studied the tutorial about creating cart buttons properly yet.

Good Morning,
I finished doing what was instructed in FW reference manual up to page 435.
I am confused. When I had my store linked directly to Pay Pal, with Pay Pal
“add to cart” buttons for each product, on the product pages - not a
separate page listing everything I sell, the items were added to the cart
directly from the pages. I have a variety of products from supplements to
dog houses. They require different shipping options, and sales tax or none.
One size does not fit all when it comes to shipping or tax. Am I supposed to
create a ridiculously long list of all the products on my store on this one
page that is linked to Mal’s? Where is the “add to cart” button creation
that I need to put with each product? I find no information on Mal’s with
details about the features included in an upgrade to Premium. What am I
missing here? Thanks for your help, in advance.
