2a2? Was this an alpha build? And in October 2008?! Where’s the
official build and release?

I do remember now why this build was released, and with the resulting
drawings now residing in the London Transport Museum, I’m surprised
that Intaglio’s development team haven’t wet themselves with
excitment!?!

Does anyone get the feeling that Intaglio has kinda been abandoned?

What a shame if that is the case? :frowning:

Thanks though Julius, for the link  Its nice to know that there are
still people out there with a passion for this product.

regards,

Tom Fenn

We need to be patient Tom. From what I understand, there is a lot of work being done behind the scenes and good things are on the way.

On the PreRelease page, there’s something called Intaglio SketchPad. Has anyone tried it? It doesn’t work with OS 10.4.11.

Why do I continue to get that feeling that I am a passenger aboard
that plane awaiting takeoff in the second series of “The Hitch Hikers
Guide to the Galaxy”? Where lemon-soaped paper napkins are served “for
your comfort and hygiene” every 100 years or so?!

What I am asking is that it would be nice if the developer would rear
his head every couple of weeks to give us a status report rather than
this deadly silence. Rob, if you you want to keep you head in the
sand, fine. But I am one of those people who likes to know how my 95
dollars + VAT have been spent.

Nope, it doesn’t work with leopard either.

BUT

Is this an iPhone application/ beta???

??

hmm…

Nice to hear Nick’s voice- make me feel closer to the missing person-
if you see what I mean?

I wonder if this same station, CocoaRadio, has ever interviewed Tim
Olson of ViaCAD/ Shark FX fame?
Tim’s another guy I’d really like to meet someday. I love ViaCAD!

The Intaglio SketchPad on the PreRelease page - that’s what it said to
me when I tried looking at it
not the intaglio 3.0.2a2 - that works on my Leopard - and I can’t wait
to get my hands on the parcel bearing Snow Leopard in the post due to
arrive tomorrow!!!

We all bought whatever we bought.

I bought Intaglio years ago. They never asked me anything for the
various upgrades I got.

There never was any misrepresentation to some effect that it would be
supported until doomsday or whatever comes first.

I got more than my money’s worth.

Alain, don’t get me wrong. If I wasn’t passionate about intaglio, I
wouldn’t have posted that comment. However, you’ve reacted to the
obvious, and rather missed my point.

But it’s true though, we had Max’s brilliant map examples (which I
still don’t understand why Nick hasn’t provided links to or whatever
on the main page of purgatory design), and then, once more, utter
scilence.

Since Intaglio was first written, we’ve had a myriad of new
technologies introduced into various upgrades of Mac OS X and we now
have 64bit and Intel, but as usual, I feel like I’m grapling with the
old boys brigade.

You too the Alain, sand can be rather painful on the eyes.

Tom

I am sure this is true. But, at no point were we sold anything more
than we bought. So, yes, I too wish Intaglio would allow me to do
this or that but, again, Purgatory never promised me anything more.

By the way and as a matter of fact, I got a lot more support than I
could have dreamed of. (http://www.freemathtexts.org/

DON’T PANIC !

…but I ought to know you’re feeling very depressed…

by the way, I AM happy with current version of Intaglio, but would feel pretty sad if it’s development is abandoned, since it’s such a successful successor of that good old Claris MacDraw !

What did I start with my observations on a small quirk in Intaglio’s
design!!!
Not a quirk! It’s a FEATURE!!!
Like in an old much loved car where the lock on the driver’s side
doesn’t work and you have to lock from the passenger side, and then be
careful because if you turn the lock too long the windows start to
open! (An old VW in the family).

It was really interesting to hear Nick on Cocoa Radio. A real
programmer.
I knew there was a reason for the good feeling that comes off the
product.

Just wanted to chip in my halfpence worth

Sorry, but that’s too passive for me. I like to see progression.

That’s funny, Maths scares the willies out of me, but my father is an
internationally renowned, Cambridge educated maths professor!! But I’m
confused as I don’t really know what that has got to do with this

I’ll find the time to read it- then perhaps I will understand your

Deploring is one thing but complaining is another. I thought you were
complaining that Intaglio was not being developed. If not, sorry
about that.

Well, I am no way in the same class as your father but don’t bother
with the site: Here is the acknowledgment I referred to:

"Then there was Nick Nallick, from Intaglio, a proprietary drawing

software, whose understanding of the problems I was facing went so
far, among many other things, as adding the option to save graphicsas
svg."

So, you can see why I am grateful with what I already got.

I thought so but I still don’t get it–but then I am not a native

LOL!

Has anyone here tried Tim Olson’s ViaCAD? (very underrated 3D CAD
btw). VC’s development is just like Intaglio’s. But at least Tim does
vacate the forums, and gives us little demoes of what’s coming up, and
he does try to fix things too- but it takes ages! I think Tim and Nick
are probably very similar to each other- stuck in some shack halfway
up a mountain, with nothing but beef jerky, coffee and hungry
grizzlies to keep you company!!

Nice to know that there is activity on the Intaglio forum. I love this
software, and will use it wherever I can avoid using illustrator!
