Thx for your patience

I just made HTML box and the 1st image was too big for the box so i went to graphic and had one option to fit box to graphic.

it is very long, as we created various images in PShop.

will it be smaller later or what do do I do next?

Good luck.

Remember that when you want to select different items that are stacked one on top of each other then use the Site/Page view near the topleft of yourscreen to toggle between the list of your pages and the list of individual items on your page.

Clicking on the item name in the list will select the item on the page.

If you have selected the graphic box using this method it will then allow you to Apple+E to import content without actually clicking on the item on the page.

And so to bed - show us something tomorrow.

Shift+Apple F fits the graphic to the box.

But be careful - that combo fits the picture to the box with an
unconstrained aspect ration, so if you import an upright picture into
a horizontal box, it will stretch the picture sideways until it fits.
To import keeping the right proportions, use Apple-Alt-Shift-F.

Absolutely (it was very late when I posted) - one consideration when you are planning your workflow and repetitive tasks like this is making sure that you have considered things like aspect ratio.

Something like Carousel looks a lot cleaner if all the content you use has the same aspect ratio. So you may have one with all portrait pics and one with all landscape.

Mmm, I know what you mean… but sometimes it happens. I’m afraid
iFrames really are best avoided in general. And they’re also simply
not well suited to what you are trying to do - sorry! And finally,
that example you showed us? That’s done entirely in Flash.

Walter’s Carousel action should be perfect, and definitely worth
putting the time in to get working.

Actually, I found that quite annoying in the example you showed.

Which is the shortcut for going to Item > Graphic > Scale to Box.

Although if you don’t want your image to distort to fill the box’s
dimensions, choose Item > Graphic > Scale and Pad (which is
command-option-shift-F), or the new-in-Freeway-5 command, Scale and
Trim (no shortcut).

Or control-click or right-click your image and choose the equivalent
command from the contextual menu.

Just to add a different approach to what you want, take a look at:

http://www.verticalmoon.com/products/products.htm

and try the demo for SWF’n’Slide.

I have used SWF’n’Slide Pro for a number of ‘slideshow/gallery’ sites
and it is currently on a development site here:

http://www.words-strategies.co.uk/clientspace6/

Don’t take any notice of the pics! These are just demo place holders
for the client from his own photos - the actual pics, which have only
just arrived, have been taken professionally. (The final version will
be linked to all the product pages). This doesn’t use arrows, but you
can.

See: http://www.thecakecompany.net/design.html

After all your trials so far, I hope this doesn’t add more confusion.
Once you have made you ‘slideshow’ you can just place the file in an
HTML box. Individual slides can be linked to other pages, enlarged
images, etc. if you need.

Yes I also have SWF’n’Slide, and others from the same stable - and they are great at what they do - but I didn’t want to put another iron in the fire and create more consternation

Ha! Good morning well that was fun reading!

You guys are great… I am not complaining i actually love trying to figure all this out. I was successful with my example, although I had to cut up the banners with 3 images that we made in PS into sep images, as we made 3 image banners.
so I guess I will have to do that will all of them… that is what I meant by work.

Ok a few questions before I proceed.
The HTML box and the graphic box inside it. Do I click the layer box inspector and Absolute?

I will ask more as I go. You all have been fantastic
I appreciate it

1/ Layer and Absolute - Yes

2/ Yes

Select all of the panes and group them together. With the group selected, apply the Carousel action to the group.

Each pane consists of the HTML box with its child graphic box inside

Hello

Here’s how to do that. Each of your carousel panes will have a unique
name. You can see this in Freeway’s site pane if you switch to Show
Items view (click on the bar at the top of the Site pane). These
names will be unique on the page, and correspond to an anchor which
you can use to target that item.

So if the pane you want to slide into view is called item1a, then you
would set your URL to #item1a (manually – Freeway will not recognize
that these targets exist, so you can’t pick them out of the picker).

By the way, this is what the Carousel Tabs action does under the hood
– it just creates an Anchor link for whichever pane you select.
Unlike the Freeway Anchor menu, it does recognize all elements on the
page which are children of a Carousel and gives you a nice picking
list to choose them with.
