You are all rockstars!!!

Heyy, well done Carla! It sounds like with the power of Freeway and
some pointers you’ve come a long way.

Yes I have Keith

especially after Walter said this!

It sounds to me as though you are trying to continue with the iframe here, and have put the Carousel on a page which you then include into your main Projects page. Stop that! Now! You are needlessly complicating things for yourself, and also making a page which cannot be linked to from the outside world.

It was like a seen from Moonstruck… “snap out of it”… slap

Ha! Thanks guys

Heh. I did smile when I read his post.

I’d add that you should do your best to avoid using iFrames at all
times; always see if there’s another solution, a different design
idea, ANYthing other than iFrames!

Yes I realize that now… I will go into the action folder and dump them.
Best

Well - I have to say I still have the actions around. It is just that
it should normally be a last resort solution. That’s all. Sorry for
the confusion!

Hey Carla

Glad you are sorted - sorry I wasn’t around much this W/E to help you out but you were in the expert hands of Walter and Keith.

But PLEASE for the future get yourself some webspace that you can upload your test sites to so that we can see the problems (and read your code of course).

Very often this is all we need to give the correct guidance.

And give us a link when you are ready with it.

Hello guys

Well here is the site uploaded!

It is loading a bit slow. I wonder if there is anything I can do to remedy this??

I want to thank you all as I love this site and you all made it possible.

Maybe for some people. But it loads quite sprightly here. I’m on a
fairly garden-variety DSL connection.

Just to let you guys know that we have amended this Action so you no
longer have to do this (it’s the FW 4/5 version only at the moment):

Thanks for all the really helpful info up here guys.

If anyone needs to create scrolling text I have managed a decent
enough way to do it, with a few wart and all fixes…

Re the browser jumping off once the scrolling text at the bottom
becomes into view,

a QUICK FIX, is to draw a blank item at the bottom of your page…

It still leads to a scrolling bar but it least it won’t suddenly
jump out of the way creating an annoying jerking action for the user…

all the best
