Uploading from Freeway

Xway 1.0 is good news for the future. For the moment I am working with Freeway 7.1.4. But I can no longer upload the website. Error message: CURL cannot be initialized. What can I do? MAC OS 10.12.6.

Hi Wulf,

I’ve moved your post into the Freeway category, since it is about Freeway rather than Xway.

I don’t know what is causing your upload error, but Freeway is using an old version of libcurl (CURL library), and it’s possible that it no longer works for your web provider. If this is more than just a temporary error (check that you’re able to connect with third-party tools such as Cyberduck or Transmit) you can work around it by exporting your site and using a third-party tool (Cyberduck, Transmit etc.) to upload it.

To export your site, choose File Copy from the popup at the top of Freeway’s Upload dialog, and “upload” (export) it to a local folder on your Mac. When you’ve done that, use the Synchronise command in Cyberduck (or another third-party app) to synchronise your local folder with an online destination folder. If you have previously exported your site in this way, future file-copy uploads will update your local folder with any changes, and Cyberduck (etc.) can be used to synchronise those changes with your online destination folder.

Thank you for these tips, Jeremy, I’ll try it. Otherwise I’ll wait for Xway and redo everything.
Best regarts,
Wulf

Hi Jeremy, thank you so much for posting this workaround! I had the same problem like Wulf Kirschner. Cyberduck solved the problem with ease. Can’t wait for the new Xway! Greetings Ernst
