Hi Geoff,
You should be able to find your serial number in an email.
See this post for information on how to search for it in your email client.
If you can’t find it, contact me using the support address I included there.

Hi Mulert,
You should have received an email containing your Xway licence code (serial number). Can you look in your spam folder in case it’s been put there?
See point 3 in this post for more information.
Hi Jensenm,
Sorry about the form response! @simonmanning might know more about this.
Contact us via support at softpress dot com, and let us know what email address you used (or might have used) when you purchased Freeway.
Hi Jeremy,
danke für die Antwort.
Ich habe den Licence Code jetzt gefunden.
Er wurde bei meinem alten Freeway Pro 7.1.4 Lizensschlüssel abgelegt.
I’m getting an error message when I try to update the software by clicking ‘Check for updates’:
“Xway can’t be updated if it’s running from the location it was downloaded to.”
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Hi Martin,
This is caused by a security feature of macOS called “translocation”.
It basically means that if you download a macOS application, you should move it before running it. In many cases this happens naturally: someone downloads a zip file containing an app, decompresses it, and then moves the app to their Applications folder. But if you moved the zip file to your Applications folder and decompressed it there, I think you could run into problems.
Assuming that Xway is currently in your Applications folder, what I suggest is:
Thanks for that Jeremy - turns out it had saved the new application in my downloads folder - moved it to applications and it’s allowed me to upgrade to 1.0
I want to use XWay on my MacMini and on my Powerbook. Do I need two licences for this or is one license meant for one user.
Hi Beat,
That’s fine! Each licence can be activated three times, which is meant to cover situations like this.
If you transfer to a new computer at some point, it’s best if you deactivate the licence on the old computer first, before activating on the new computer.

Wow! Late on parade!
Life has been a bit odd round here, and I don’t spend as much time at the desk as I used to. But, I hope to semi-retire soon and devote more time to creative pursuits again.
So, congrats to the SoftPress team on Xway 1.0. I’ve been using the beta versions for my “corporate site” for a while, and really liked it. I’ve finally managed to upgrade my Mac to something modern, so I can keep up at last.
Rather than try to upgrade using my old Freeway licence I decided the asking price for a fresh Xway 1.0 was worth every penny. Now I need to relearn everything again!
Cheers!
Hi Heather,
It’s good to hear from you!
Hi Jeremy,
I used Freeway for many years and switched last weekend to Xway.
I am very happy with Xway. - Everything works very well.
Thank you very much!!!
Regards from Switzerland
